NOTICE OF AUTHORISATION TO OPERATE AS A LIMITED LIABILITY PARTNERSHIP (LLP)
Please note that with effect from 2nd June 2026, J. Harrington & Co. Solicitors will operate as J.
Harrington Solicitors LLP, a Limited Liability Partnership authorised by the Legal Services
Regulatory Authority pursuant to Section 125 of the Legal Services Regulation Act 2015.
From 2nd June 2026, and subject to the exceptions set out in Section 123 of the Legal Services
Regulation Act 2015, a partner in J. Harrington Solicitors LLP will have no personal liability for any
debts, obligations or liabilities incurred for the purpose of carrying on the business of the Limited
Liability Partnership (whether such liabilities are liabilities of the LLP, of the partner concerned,
of another partner or partners in the LLP or of any employee, agent or representative of the LLP).
This limitation relates only to the personal liability of partners and does not prevent or restrict the
enforcement against the property of the LLP of any debt, obligation or liability.
The Partnership Act 1890 continues to apply to the LLP to the extent that it is not inconsistent with
Chapter 3 of Part 8 of the Act.
This Notice is intended to formally notify clients and creditors of the change in status of the
practice to a Limited Liability Partnership.
